Karen Speel, LICSW

Founder & DBT Psychotherapist

Karen is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with advanced training in providing Dialectical Behavior Therapy from Behavioral Tech. She has specialized training in treatment of emotion dysregulation, self-harm, and suicidality. Karen has an undergraduate degree in social work from the University of Southern Maine and her master’s degree in social work from Simmons University in Boston with over 18 years in the mental health field. She has been in various professional roles including the Program Director of a DBT residential program, emergency crisis services, as well as hospital and community-based outpatient mental health. Karen started a private practice focusing on DBT in 2013 which later transitioned in 2019 to The Women’s Center for DBT.

Laura Domanico, LMHc

Clinical Director & DBT Psychotherapist

Laura is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 11 years of clinical experience in the mental health field. She has advanced Foundational training in DBT from Behavioral Tech.

Laura completed her graduate training at Boston College studying clinical mental health counseling.  Her undergraduate degree in Psychology was completed at Stonehill College. Her experience includes various leadership roles in community mental health, outpatient therapy, and group therapy.

Katharine slayton, M.ED

DBT Psychotherapist

Katharine is a license eligible Mental Health Counselor with over five years of clinical experience in the mental health field. Katharine completed her graduate training at Boston University’s Wheelock College of Education and Human Development with a focus on both School and Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She attended the University of North Carolina Wilmington where she received her undergraduate degree in Education, with a focus on behavioral studies. 

Katharine has held clinical positions in schools and hospital settings, including both psychiatric inpatient and emergency department. Katharine believes in a strength based, trauma informed approach to care in order to help individuals successfully reach their goals and live a life full of meaning. 

Kristin Dame, LMHC

DBT Psychotherapist

Kristin is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 26 years of clinical experience working in the mental health field.

Kristin completed her graduate training at Boston College in Boston Massachusetts where she studied psychology and mental health counseling. Her vast clinical experience includes work in community mental health clinics, in educational day and residential settings, emergency services and crisis counseling, coordinating clinical programs and providing mental health counseling in correctional facilities, and social services for adults in criminal court.

Raluca Honciuc, LMHC

DBT Psychotherapist

Raluca is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 13 years of clinical experience in the mental health field. She has advanced DBT Foundational training through Behavioral Tech.

Raluca completed her graduate training at Cambridge College studying Counseling Psychology with a focus on addictions and marriage and family therapy. Her undergraduate degree in Sociology was completed at Babes Bolyai University of Cluj in Romania. Her broad experience includes work in community mental health working with children, adults, and families impacted by mental illness. In addition she has held leadership roles as both a Clinical Coordinator and Assistant Director in recovery based clinical services.
